DEEP TISSUE THERAPIES

I offer a variety of deep tissue therapies designed to address pain, improve mobility, reduce stress and improve your over-all health and well-being. My primary specialty is Thai massage, which is typically performed on the floor, although I bring these

rejuvenating techniques to the massage table as well. I also perform myofascial release and recently added the ancient art of cupping to my specializations.

New clients undergo consultation regarding pain location, pain levels, and most importantly the goals they wish to get out of therapy. Through intuition and palpation I am able to locate trigger points and other areas in the body that would benefit from different techniques, which will assist you in achieving your goals.

In contrast to the popular Swedish massage of the west, which focuses on the physical aspect of the body by kneading muscles, Thai Massage utilizes gentle pressure and yoga-like stretching, coupled with conscious breath-work, to relax the whole body on a deeper level. This improves an individuals' personal outlook and their emotional state.

TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE

Like Yoga, Thai Massage, also known as "Yoga Massage," improves flexibility and increases an individuals’ range of motion. Gradually moving through different yoga-like positions calms and centers the individual while reducing muscle stress and strain. Focusing on energy lines known as Sen, as with acupressure and acupuncture, calms the individual's nervous system and improves organ function. Overall, this therapy enhances the body’s circulatory system, increasing energy levels, lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of heart problems. It also increases the amount of oxygen that gets to the brain, which enhances creativity, mental clarity and decreases the occurrence of head pain.

Thai massage rejuvenates by introducing and maintaining a deeper level of mental and physical relaxation. The positive effects are varied, measurable and long lasting.

Integrated “Table Thai” massage is a modern fusion of the very best of several modalities. Whether it’s your first time getting a massage, or you’re deeply familiar, an integrated massage is a great way to introduce yourself to Thai techniques.

These techniques and movement therapies are unique for each individual and are designed to relieve tension, improve circulation and revitalize one’s sense of well-being. Myofascial release, for example, involves applying gentle, sustained pressure

INTEGRATED "TABLE THAI"

This service fuses my training in conventional modalities with my specialization, Thai Massage, combining the best aspects of Swedish, myofascial release, craniosacral, and other deep tissue techniques, including cupping, with yoga-like stretching and breathing on the massage table.

into the Myofascial connective tissue. Swedish uses different types of strokes: gliding, kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction and vibration for relaxation and pain relief. Craniosacral is a gentle approach that relieves deep tensions in the body by applying light touch to  the face, skull, spine and hips. And Cupping employs suction to invert and amplify deep tissue effects for a variety of health benefits.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial Release is a safe and effective hands-on treatment, which involves applying gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain, restore motion and diminish spasticity in muscle tissue. Exercise, trauma, inflammatory response, and surgical procedures are the most common causes of Myofascial restrictions.

My use of Myofascial Release therapy is unique for each individual. I use a series of techniques and movement therapies to relieve tension, improve circulation and revitalize one’s sense of well-being. This promotes independence through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instruction, increased strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle and relaxing healing therapy with a proven history of easing pain, reducing stress and enhancing wellness.

I typically include several minutes toward the end of your massage. It involves light touch and intermediate pressure to mobilize the joints of the cranium. It may also include light touches to the spine and pelvis. It is believed that together these regulate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and aid in motility of the central nervous system. Proper hydration is key; Craniosacral therapy gets that hydration where it needs to be.

My goal is to optimize neurological function while taking your relaxation to the deepest level possible.

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a localized suction is created on the skin. Through either heat or suction, the skin is gently drawn upwards by creating a vacuum in a cup over the target area of the skin.

I perform traditional “fire cupping” with glass cups as well as heatless treatment with modernized pliable silicon cups. Once the vacuum has been established, cups are sometimes moved along a muscle or lymph channel. In either case, both still or when gliding the cups, these therapies apply an inverse pressure to typical deep tissue massage.

CUPPING THERAPIES

The suction and inverted pressure provided by cupping loosens muscles, encourages blood flow, and sedates the nervous system. Cupping improves circulation, respiratory conditions and is an excellent treatment for high blood pressure. It is often used to treat muscular pain, muscular scar tissue and connective tissue as well as relieve anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism and cellulite. Cupping promotes healthy tissue by bringing toxins and inflammatory byproducts to the surface of the skin where the lymph system can remove them from the body.

I also provide what is commonly called a “non-surgical face lift,” which is a series of ten (10) gentle, facial cupping sessions designed to revitalize the facial skin cells, remove small lines, improve circulation and bring the skin on the face back to it’s healthiest state of well-being.

NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT

Facial cupping, often referred to as a “non-surgical face lift,” is a gentle, non-invasive treatment designed to minimize the effects of sun, environmental damage and aging. It is completely safe and involves no recovery time, chemicals or any other potentially harmful or painful procedures. The therapy offers aesthetic benefits to both oily and dry skin.

Here are some of the ways facial cupping works:

· Lymph gland drainage results in reduce edema and puffy appearance

· Nutrition brought to the surface of the skin provides a young “glow”

· Beauty products post-treatment are absorbed better and thus more effective

· Relaxing tense facial muscles results in softer, younger appearance

· Stimulated connective tissue under the skin promotes healthy and vital skin
